We localize IBA’s enjoinment that every lawyer is first, a human rights lawyer. We are convinced that there is a crucial connection between rule of law and well enforced human and socio-economic rights. This is why we encourage our members to challenge any aspect of governments’ policies and programs.

 

Our Osita Enwe is currently in a federal high court, Abuja, challenging the National Assembly’s decision not to grant to him access into budgetary expenses relating to district offices and operational costs for certain senators and members of house of representatives that include the sitting governor of Enugu State.

Our Osita Enwe is currently in a federal high court against Senator Utazi who represents the senatorial constituency where he grew up. He is asking him to account for constituency projects under the senator’s watch.

Prior to the #EndSars protest, our Osita Enwe, had commenced an action against the Nigerian Police Force in federal high court, Lagos, praying the court to compel the IGP to disclose to him the operational costs of police across states in Nigeria. His interest includes training costs for members of the police force.

In year 2020, Osita, commenced an FOI application against AMCON as the federal high court, Lagos, asking the court to compel AMCON to disclose to him, lists of AMCON’s debtors and obligors.
